What people don't know about getting a job with the United Nations family!

What people don't know about getting a job at the United Nations family.jpg

The United Career Coalition (UCC) did quite a lot of research, on what data and information is out there and quickly noticed that a lot of online available advice is around ways to get into the United Nations (UN), for example via an internship with the United Nations or UN volunteering, but not a lot of specific advice on, for example, how to fill out a personal history form, the importance of a tailor made cover letter or most importantly opportunities to network and connect with UN staff.

While there are a lot of articles and websites mentioning how important networking is, most don’t offer any service to do so. There is hardly any professional one to one in-depth advice and help out there, so we created the UCC for career advice for international and UN system jobs.

UN insider will share their tips and tricks via video calls you can book via UCCs website. During this 45min Personal one to one consultation with an UN insider you will get personalized career guidance to help you fast track an international career and increase your chances to land a job with the UN https://unitedcareercoalition.org/how-to-work-in-the-un

In addition, UCC offers the “Future Leaders Challenge” a unique short-term extra-curricular 2-day face to face workshop for students, mid-career professionals and future leaders who desire to work in the international relations or public sector arena https://unitedcareercoalition.org/un-career-workshop-ucc-events

It is open to applications from all over the world for everybody wanting to experience 48 hours of what it is like at the UNITED NATIONS family!

The event is run by professional facilitators, with an extensive network of speakers ranging from Senior level UN insiders, internationally respected experts with many years of UN system and diplomatic experience to International Relations professionals.

The UCC Future Leaders Challenge not only offers individuals an insider look at how to start a career with the UN and its various agencies but also an opportunity to connect and understand how a day of a procurement employee, HR officer or legal advisor at the UN looks like.

UCC aims to have a diverse set of job families represented to possible cover as many job families as possible that could be of interest to our participants.

UCC started with a simple idea, how can we, a group of UN insiders, help people who are interested in a career within the UN system in a more structured and useful way by providing UN insider advice and network opportunities. Increase your access to advice for UN system applications, interviews and learn more about a career at one of the many UN organization and most importantly get the opportunity to network and connect with current and former UN staff.

Me and our UN insiders have seen first-hand the great work the UN and its specialized agencies such as the FAO, IAEA, ILO, IMO, IMF, UNESCO, UNIDO, UNODC, UNHCR, CTBTO, OPCW do and the opportunity it presents as a career for those wanting to make a difference; UCC UN insiders goal is to share this knowledge, inspire people and help as many people as possible to experience what it feels like to be part of the UNITED NATIONS family! And to help people understand if they are a right fit for the UN but also if the UN is a right fit for them.
